This boldly struck example has somewhat squared rims and needle-sharp details. The coin is mostly brown, but there are traces of original mint color. A business strike coin that is quite reminiscent of a Proof.

This was the final Proof date before America's entry into the First World War, and Breen called it ''very rare and seldom offered.'' With only 1,050 Proofs struck, this date has long been recognized as rare in the highest grades.
