Lot # Description Grade Hammer Price 1772 1892 Choice Brilliant Uncirculated CH BU $350.00 A beautiful first year coin with frosty lustre and magnificent rainbow toning framing most of the obverse. 1773 1892'O', 1893'S' CH AU $325.00 Choice About Uncirculated. The first coin shows signs of die rust around the date as well as an unusual die chip from the top of the '1' to the truncation of the neck. The second coin may have been wiped at some point in the past. 2 pieces. 1774 1892'S/S' Brilliant Uncirculated BU $1,400.00 Fully prooflike cameo with frosty devices and watery fields. This coin is the scarce S over S variety. A hint of neon blue toning clings to much of the obverse rim. A flashy coin with a great look. 1775 1893 Choice Brilliant Uncirculated CH BU $210.00 Lightly toned and free of any detracting marks. Careful examination reveals signs of die clashing in the reverse fields. 1776 1893'O' Choice Brilliant Uncirculated CH BU $525.00 This well struck example is bathed in frosty mint lustre. The color is pale gray with some hints of golden gray toning. 1777 1894 Brilliant Uncirculated CH AU $400.00 - or nearly so; 1894'O' Choice About Uncirculated. Both coins are pleasing pale gray, the first with light russet toning at the upper right rim. The second coin has a few slide marks at the high points keeping it from Mint State. 2 pieces. 1778 1894'S' Choice Brilliant Uncirculated CH BU $850.00 This fully struck coin shows meticulous detail. A lustrous coin with attractive light toning. 1779 1895'O' Choice Brilliant Uncirculated CH BU $550.00 A well struck coin with a wisp of toning at the lower rim. 1780 1895'S' CH AU $400.00 Choice About Uncirculated, nearly Mint State. A pleasing coin with just a hint of wear at the obverse. A touch of blue and golden toning is found at the obverse. 1781 1896'O' Gem Brilliant Uncirculated GEM BU $4,250.00 Frosty silver-white lustre gives distinction to this delightful New Orleans strike. Specialists in this increasingly popular series will note that the 'O' mintmark is set far to the right between 'R' and 'D' on the reverse. 1782 1897 Very Choice Brilliant Uncirculated VERY CH BU $210.00 - near-Gem but for a solitary facial mark. Rich silver is complemented by faint gold and blue at the rims. 1783 1897'O' Very Choice Brilliant Uncirculated VERY CH BU $3,000.00 This glittering, satin-silver coin is Gem but for a trivial scuff on Liberty's jaw. 'O' is equidistant from 'R' and 'D.' A very rare date in this lofty grade. 1784 1898, 1900 Repunched Second '0' CH AU $400.00 Choice About Uncirculated; 1901, 1902 Strong About Uncirculated. The first coin is a whisper from Mint State, all show flashing silver with appealing russet or gold borders. 4 pieces. 1785 1898'O' CH AU $400.00 Choice About Uncirculated. This obverse shows some very faint friction, though the reverse is Choice Mint State. 'O' hovers over right edge of 'R'. 1786 1898'S', 1899, 1899'S' AU $375.00 About Uncirculated. All are bold examples of this grade, all were cleaned or brightened at some time, now retoned in ebony or red-gold. 3 pieces. 1787 1899'O' Gem Brilliant Uncirculated GEM BU $1,800.00 Well struck and boasting rich frosty lustre, a line of iridescent old-gold slants across the reverse. Light gold gathers at the outer rims. This New Orleans date is distinctly scarcer than the mintage might suggest. 1788 1900'O' Very Choice Brilliant Uncirculated VERY CH BU $2,400.00 Richly glowing lustre is highlighted by bold peripheral gold, reverse shows a trace of striking weakness. 1789 1900'S' Brilliant Uncirculated BU $200.00 Silver lustre contrasts with scattered tawny gold on either side. 'S' is small and compressed-looking, placed between the 'R' and 'D'. 1790 1901'S' Very Choice Brilliant Uncirculated VERY CH BU $50,000.00 - close to the Gem category. This richly lustrous silver-white coin displays Lawrence's Obv. B, distinguished by 1's over the space between denticles. Type III reverse is Lawrence's type B showing the 'S' above and almost centered between 'R' and 'D.' One of 72,664 struck and an example of the long-acclaimed ''King of Barber Coinage'' at its finest. This classic rarity is eagerly sought...  more 1791 1902'O' Brilliant Uncirculated BU $275.00 A filled 'O' is over the right edge of 'R' in QUARTER. Boldly lustrous with old-gold at the rims, a glass finds faint obverse slide marks. This reverse is fully Choice. 1792 1902'S' Brilliant Uncirculated BU $350.00 - with claims to higher grade. Assertive silver is edged in clear gold. A few obverse marks separate this gleaming coin from Choice. 1793 1903 Brilliant Uncirculated BU $130.00 - approaching Choice with semi-reflective fields. The obverse is bordered in russet-gold, the reverse is almost wholly silver. 1794 1903'O' Very Choice Brilliant Uncirculated VERY CH BU $3,250.00 - on the cusp of fully Gem. Subtly glowing gold arcs follow the precise rims for tantalizing beauty on this example of an often underrated yet scarce New Orleans date. 1795 1903'S' Very Choice Brilliant Uncirculated VERY CH BU $2,200.00 This boldly gleaming near-Gem shows the 'S' over the space right of 'R' in QUARTER. 1796 1904'O' CH AU $325.00 Choice About Uncirculated. Nice colorful toning gives this barely circulated coin an attractive look. 1797 1905 Brilliant Uncirculated BU $1,150.00 - and nearly Choice. An attractive specimen with frosty lustre and hints of pale russet toning. 1798 1905'S' Brilliant Uncirculated BU $800.00 A well struck and lustrous coin. Faint rainbow hues can be found at the upper obverse rim. 1799 1906, 1908 CH AU $650.00 Choice About Uncirculated; 1910 Brilliant Uncirculated. An attractive trio of coins. The last example has a couple of tiny toning spots. All three have good appeal. 3 pieces. 1800 1906'D' Choice Brilliant Uncirculated CH BU $1,100.00 The obverse of this coin is golden gray with some rose and blue toning at the right rim. The reverse is white. 1801 1906'O' Very Choice Brilliant Uncirculated VERY CH BU $2,200.00 Vibrant mint frost is exuded from the surfaces of this frosty specimen. The reverse and central obverse are pale gray. The obverse rims are graced by blue, gold and russet tones giving the eye appeal of a full Gem.
