This example of a rare date shows clear recutting on the lower arc of the '0'. Wear is appropriate to the grade and shows a couple of old toned-over obverse scrapes. Some light hairlines, otherwise this coin has the eye appeal of a much higher grade. Gem Brilliant Uncirculated GEM BU $5,250.00 The outstanding quality of this coin's strike is well matched by the richness of its immaculate lustre, edged in glowing old-gold on the obverse. The fields and devices are pale blue and gold, with electric blue and pastel tones beautifying the reverse. Wear is minimal, considerable lustre surrounds the crisp reliefs, the obverse field shows graffiti flanking Liberty. 1100 1861'O' Brilliant Uncirculated BU $280.00 - appearing Choice at first glance. Splendid gleaming silver underlies bold rose and mauve toning. 1101 1864'S' WB-101. Large 'S.' EF to AU $180.00 Extremely Fine to About Uncirculated. Untroubled wear and light gold define this coin, ever so gently cleaned long ago. 1102 1865 AU $300.00 A strong About Uncirculated with claims to a higher grade. Traces of delicate russet-golden peripheral toning frame fields and design features that still retain an ample measure of frosty mint lustre. Well struck on either side. 1103 1868 Brilliant Proof BR PF $360.00 Glimmering, reflective fields frame crisply struck central devices on this survivor of just 600 Proofs struck. Reverse exhibits russet-gold at the peripheries, while the obverse exhibits two creamy toning bands. 1104 1872'S' Very Choice Brilliant Uncirculated VERY CH BU $3,300.00 Highest quality cartwheel silver lustre complements an exacting and wonderfully detailed impression of the dies. Here is another Branch Mint date notably elusive in this high grade range, one of four thus graded, PCGS MS64. 1105 1873 Arrows. WB-106. Large Arrows. Brilliant Uncirculated BU $600.00 Lustre of virtually prooflike intensity amplifies the beauty of an exacting strike, making this a splendid representative of the brief Arrows design. 1106 1874 Arrows. Choice Brilliant Proof CH BR PF $2,400.00 - with claims to the Gem category. A blend of rose-gold, aqua-blue, and emerald-green toning bathe premium quality underlying mirrored surfaces. Of the 700 Proofs coined of this date, a very large portion are inferior to the coin offered here in quality and/or visual appeal. 1107 1875'CC' WB-102 (R-7). 'C' over Small 'C'. Very Choice Brilliant Uncirculated VERY CH BU $3,250.00 Smooth silver mint frost, with the obverse complemented by wonderfully rich old-gold and pervasive clear gold for outstanding beauty. 1108 1876'S', 1877 CH AU $300.00 Choice About Uncirculated. Bold silver lustre competes with old-gold on the first, dark peripheral gold on the second coin. 2 pieces. 1109 1877 Brilliant Uncirculated BU $275.00 - and near-Choice. Bright silver mint frost covers both sides which are flavored by a light whisper of intriguing gold. 1110 1878 Very Choice Brilliant Proof VERY CH BR PF $440.00 Bright silver-white reverse contrasts with an obverse displaying a great arc of deepest coppery-gold. One of 800 Proofs struck. 1111 1880 Choice Brilliant Proof CH BR PF $625.00 Liquid gold flavors the deepest glass-mirror fields one might desire. Devices are razor-sharp and delicately frosted for exceptional beauty. PCGS PR64. 1112 1881 Type I Reverse. Gem Brilliant Proof GEM BR PF $1,700.00 Liquid-glass fields give dramatic reflective beauty, edged in colorful tobacco-gold for added contrast. One of 975 struck and surely one of the finest. According to Breen, the Type I Reverse of this date is rare. 1113 1882 AB EF $405.00 About Extremely Fine. Moderate wear, a wealth of rose and mauve define this colorful specimen. 1114 1884 Very Choice Brilliant Proof VERY CH BR PF $1,300.00 A scarce date in any condition. Watery reflectivity surrounds the obverse central device that is toned a lovely graphite gray. The reverse has deep mirror fields enhancing the vividly detailed Eagle. 1115 1889 CH AU $375.00 Choice About Uncirculated. Lustre around the bold reliefs complements subtle tan-gold.
