Fine-15. This Cent has tremendous appeal. Most coins of this issue are dark and porous, but this coin is an exception. The surfaces are smooth and a lovely chocolate brown color. There are signs of contact, but nothing severe or inconsistant with the grade. A pleasing coin that is much nicer than normally encountered. |

Very Fine-20. Smooth ruddy brown surfaces are quite pleasing. The coin is well struck and shows strong details. The overdate is quite bold for an additional element of intrigue. This is another issue that is usually found on dark rough planchets, luckily that is not the case for this specimen. An alluring example. |

About Uncirculated-55. Icy mint lustre gleams over surfaces that are of a dark brown color that is characteristic of the planchet stock on which Classic Heads were struck. A series of tiny reeding marks near the 13th star are joined by a thin, toned over hairline that arcs from the second star to 'T' of LIBERTY, serving to hallmark this specimen. Here is a wonderful coin whose bold lustre... more |
