To say that this coin is merely lustrous is an serious understatement for this amazingly frosty example. A bold strike has imparted even the smallest of details with great clarity. The honey gold color adds to the overall charm. A wonderful example of what is often deservedly referred to as America's most beautiful coin design. 2554 MCMVII (1907) High Relief, Roman Numeral, Wire Rim. Brilliant Uncirculated BU $15,000.00 The wire rim is nearly full on this vividly struck example, boasting a wealth of minute detail enriched by faintly green-gold lustre of a particularly intense beauty. This edge inscription shows flat, parallel bases on the 'M's.' Improving this softly glowing deep-gold example would be a challenge. 2555 MCMVII (1907) High Relief, Roman Numeral, Flat Rim CH AU $13,000.00 Choice About Uncirculated, on the threshold of full Mint State. Deep satiny yellow-gold fields highlight the nearly medallic quality of this coin's exacting strike. If this delightful example of Saint Gaudens' design circulated at all, it must have been only for a matter of days, as its overall quality can only be called exceptional. 2556 MCMVII (1907) Roman Numerals, High Relief AU $6,600.00 About Uncirculated in strict terms of wear. Lovely, orange-gold surfaces are quite brilliant and glossy, with hints of glowing, light lustre in the protected areas of the designs and lettering. The surface quality is consistent with previous jewelry use, with many fine tics on all sides, including the edge. Very Choice Brilliant Uncirculated VERY CH BU $1,500.00 - on the cusp of a Gem grade. The light salmon-gold lustre may be called nothing short of blazing on this well struck and highly appealing example of this issue that is quite scarce in the upper Mint State grades. Surfaces are remarkably free of disfiguring marks, with just a few bag tics and brush marks keeping this from a coveted Gem grade. Simply splendid! 2564 1908'D' No Motto. Brilliant Uncirculated BU $650.00 - and nearly Choice. Attractive pale gold lustre contributes to this coin's visual appeal. 2565 1908'D' With Motto. Gem Brilliant Uncirculated GEM BU $2,000.00 Shimmering lustrous surfaces include satin-smooth fields and devices of nearly medallic quality. The With Motto variants are much scarcer than their No Motto counterparts, especially when offered at this elevated level of quality. 2566 1910 Gem Brilliant Uncirculated GEM BU $1,600.00 The richest imaginable glowing yellow lustre complements this coin's orange-peel fields and crisply defined reliefs. All early Philadelphia Mint issues are scarce in such a lofty state of preservation. 2567 1910 Choice Brilliant Uncirculated CH BU $1,400.00 - with claims to Gem. Crisp and fresh, frosty mint lustre is the defining feature of this scintillating, orange-gold specimen. Well struck and quite attractive, the 1910 is quite scarce when found in the Choice Mint State or better grades. 2568 1910'S' Brilliant Uncirculated BU $700.00 Radiant mint frost surrounds impressively struck devices. 2569 1911 Very Choice Brilliant Uncirculated VERY CH BU $1,800.00 - on the threshold of fully Gem. Original mint lustre is frosty in texture and balanced in intensity on this deep orange-gold specimen of this Philly Mint issue. The strike is quite good, with only some of the trifling weakness at head, chest and knee on the obverse, giving this coin a significant boost in eye appeal. Worth only a small premium over its bullion content...  more 2574 1913'S' Choice Brilliant Uncirculated CH BU $3,800.00 - or thereabouts. Here is a playfully toned coin, with deep sunset orange at the peripheries and at the edges of the devices and brighter light gold in the more open areas of the fields. Lustre cartwheels are full and unbroken on this forcefully lustrous survivor of just 34,000 pieces struck of this date. 2575 1914 Very Choice Brilliant Uncirculated VERY CH BU $1,800.00 - or thereabouts. Flashing, cartwheel mint lustre is the defining feature of this medium-gold toned specimen. The strike is bold, with hints of coppery toning filling the crevices of the well-defined devices. Although not a rare date, the 1914 is decidedly scarce at or above the Choice Mint State level. 2576 1914'D' Choice Brilliant Uncirculated CH BU $950.00 - with the visual appeal of a Gem. Vividly coruscating lustre amplifies the breath-taking beauty of rich orange-peel fields and devices of virtually medallic perfection. 2577 1915 Choice Brilliant Uncirculated CH BU $6,000.00 An attractive coppery gold example impressive in terms of originality and absence of blemishes. 2578 1915'S' Very Choice Brilliant Uncirculated VERY CH BU $850.00 Gleaming deepest yellow lustre and orange-peel texture drench both sides of this near-Gem. 2579 1916'S' Very Choice Brilliant Uncirculated VERY CH BU $800.00 - on the cusp of a Gem grade. Here is a lovely, light amber gold specimen boasting coruscating mint frost on both sides of its well-preserved faces. Survivors of this scarce Philadelphia issue are often very heavily bagmarked, making this moderately marked specimen very desirable to the Saint Gaudens specialist or connoisseur, who will also recognize the underrated nature of this...  more 2582 1922'S' Choice Brilliant Uncirculated CH BU $11,500.00 - with claims to a full Gem grade. A dramatically sharp strike and saturation by nearly flawless yellow-gold lustre give this coin its forceful appeal. The reverse is fully Gem, while the higher relief and thus more vulnerable obverse has a few minor contact marks on the devices as well as in the fields.
