Red-brown surfaces and a meticulous strike give this example of the rare one-date Small Motto type a remarkably majestic quality. Finding an equal in exceptional grade and attendant beauty would be difficult today, finding a superior example harder yet. Only 25 have been assigned this grade by NGC. NGC MS65RB.
681 1864 Large Motto. Very Choice Brilliant Uncirculated VERY CH BU $240.00

Red and brown surfaces are well struck. There is still a decent amount of mint red still remaining on this lovely coin.
682 1864 Large Motto CH BU $170.00

Another. Choice Brilliant Uncirculated, with glowing, mostly red mint lustre and dashes of iridescence in the obverse fields and devices.
683 1865 Choice Brilliant Uncirculated CH BU $260.00

- with claims to a Gem designation. This chisel-sharp, wonderfully balanced specimen offers uniform faded mint color on either side.
684 1866 Choice Brilliant Proof CH BR PF $500.00

Glass-like fields are contrasted by frosty devices. Well struck with nice brick-red coloration. A really attractive example of this popular type coin.
685 1866 Choice Brilliant Proof CH BR PF $400.00

Another. Here is a reflective, mostly brown specimen with golden and iridescent rose-blue overtones. Just over 700 Proofs were coined of this date.
686 1867 Gem Brilliant Uncirculated GEM BU $425.00

A wonderful mostly red example that has great surfaces and a strong strike but for the central portion of the shield. A few die cracks by the date area. A really appealing example of the first type coin to have IN GOD WE TRUST as its motto.
