Sharply struck throughout and very impressive for this date which is seldom found so attractive. Light silver gray over lustre, and traces of gold are found in the fields. On the reverse, there is a minor toning streak running vertically through the left center. Later die state with several reverse die cracks and extensive die clashing seen on both sides, and this is the normal die state... more |

- nearly Choice. Tawny gold and gray over lustre and very pleasing for the scarce issue. The surfaces are excellent for the grade, and close examination will find just a couple of minor hairlines and a trivial nick near Liberty's chin. An average strike for this issue, with slight softness on Liberty's curls and the right stars. A very difficult coin in any Mint State grade. PCGS MS62. |

1827 JR-3. Very Choice Brilliant Uncirculated

VERY CH BU |
$2,000.00 |
Vibrant rainbow tones dance about the peripheries of this otherwise steel gray example. The strike is razor sharp but for a small area at the upper obverse and the coinciding lower reverse. The pleasing surfaces are devoid of any notable marks. A beautiful coin that is sure to be a prize for its future owner. |

1837 JR-4. Choice Brilliant Uncirculated

CH BU |
$850.00 |
A pleasing example that has iridescent blue ring toning with the centers a pale gray. Razor-sharp strike with all the design elements seen as John Reich intended. A very pretty coin with nice underlying mint lustre. The obverse has a die crack that divides it in half, a remarkable die failure sometimes found on this variety. |
