Brilliant Uncirculated BU $275.00 A nicely struck example with original surfaces, but a few minor rim nicks. An interesting diagonal die crack exists from about 5:00 on the reverse through '1'. 1688 1849 Open Wreath CH AU $160.00 Choice About Uncirculated. Lustrous but with evidence of light cleaning. Two almost unnoticeable rim dings at 12:00 and 2:00 and a tiny one at 7:00. 1689 1849'O' Open Wreath. Brilliant Uncirculated BU $950.00 Pale gold color, some lustre remaining. Struck from the broken obverse die. First year of issue of the Gold Dollar denomination. One of only four years of Gold Dollars that were struck at the New Orleans Mint. 215,000 were struck. 1690 1849'O' AU $280.00 About Uncirculated, but scratched and crudely plugged; 1851 Extremely Fine detail. A jewelry piece, polished and formally mounted; 1852 Very Fine but scratched and with rim damage from mounting; 1856 Extremely Fine but recovered from jewelry, polished and with a filed edge; 1862 About Uncirculated but polished and formally mounted at 12:00. 5 pieces. SOLD AS IS. NO RETURNS. 1691 1850, 1851'O' EF $280.00 Extremely Fine. Both have been lightly cleaned but still attractive and showing some of the original lustre. 2 pieces. 1692 1850 BU $275.00 About Uncirculated. A piece with light wear but having burnished surfaces; 1853 About Uncirculated but suffering from scattered scratches, rim nicks and damage on the reverse; 1854 Brilliant Uncirculated but having pock marked surfaces and evidence of cleaning. 3 pieces. 1693 1850'D' AU $1,000.00 About Uncirculated. A very high grade for one of these, the majority are in Very Fine or lower condition. This example is light yellow gold in color. Some marks are noted on both sides. A mere 8,382 were struck in this second year of issue. 1694 1850'D' EF $750.00 Extremely Fine. A second example of this scarce, very low mintage issue. Cleaned, test cut at 2:00. Buckled flan. 1695 1851 Brilliant Uncirculated BU $200.00 A nicely satiny, lustrous example, but having a few typical contact marks in the fields. 1696 1851 CH EF $290.00 About Uncirculated. A presentable example having a touch of wear on Ms. Liberty's hair and about ¾ of the lustre remaining; 1851'O' Choice Extremely Fine. An attractive example with a pleasant, coppery patina, mild wear, and lustre in the protected areas of the design. 2 pieces. 1697 1851 EF $340.00 Very Fine. A nice no-problem example with just moderate wear; 1851'O' Very Fine. A pleasing example with moderate wear and with no major detracting marks; 1856 Slant 5. Extremely Fine. A piece with moderate wear, but with lustre in the protected areas of the design. Lightly cleaned. 3 pieces. 1698 1851 EF $380.00 Extremely Fine. An attractive circulated example with copper and cobalt toning at the rims; 1852'O' Extremely Fine. A better date, and still lustrous, but with moderate wear; 1862 Extremely Fine. An attractive example showing variegated copper and cobalt toning, but with a few minor scratches. 3 pieces. 1699 1851 EF $340.00 Extremely Fine. A coin showing light wear, but no problems, and a light coppery patina; 1853 Very Fine. Moderate wear and a light, reddish patina shows retoning over an old cleaning; 1856 Extremely Fine. Lightly cleaned, and with minor disturbances and rim nicks on the reverse. 3 pieces. 1700 1851, 1856, 1862 AU $440.00 About Uncirculated. A trio of typical One Dollar examples, all with a touch of wear and satisfyingly attractive. 3 pieces. 1701 1851'C' Brilliant Uncirculated BU $2,000.00 A nice, well struck example of this Charlotte Mint issue. Both sides are the pale gold color typical of this southern mint's gold issues. Some light marks are noted on both sides. Only 41,267 were struck. 1702 1851'D' VF $250.00 Very Fine. An old warrior that has been holed, plugged, repaired and polished but still manages to show Very Fine details. Just 9,882 were struck of this date. 1703 1851'O' CH AU $300.00 Choice About Uncirculated details, but with pin scratches to left of bust; 1853 About Uncirculated but with granular surfaces and slightly buckled in the center of the reverse; 1853'O' Extremely Fine with a great deal of lustre but with center damage on the reverse. 3 pieces. 1704 1851'O' AU $200.00 Extremely Fine but with granular surfaces and a few rim nicks; 1861 About Uncirculated but with some minor hairline scratches. 2 pieces. 1705 1852 Brilliant Uncirculated BU $160.00 A lovely, lustrous example with satiny, original lustre. A few tiny rim nicks take this coin out of the Choice class. 1706 1852 CH AU $280.00 Choice About Uncirculated, with pleasing surfaces and satiny lustre; 1857 Choice About Uncirculated. This piece shows strong lustre but is a bit weak in the leaves on the reverse; probably dipped at one time. 2 pieces. 1707 1852'D' CH AU $3,250.00 Choice About Uncirculated. A low mintage branch mint issue with only 6,360 struck. Rich orange-gold surfaces are comprised of deeply dished, lustrous surfaces and very boldly struck devices. In actuality, the most protected areas of the devices and legends boast a touch of prooflike flash. Here is a wonderful specimen of this coveted Dahlonega issue. 1708 1853 Brilliant Uncirculated BU $200.00 An above average coin, well struck and attractive. A few ticks and marks away from Choice. 1709 1853 Brilliant Uncirculated BU $130.00 A sharply struck and lustrous example, but with a few scratches and a deep pin scratch in the lower left field. 1710 1853 Brilliant Uncirculated BU $125.00 An attractive example and well struck, but cleaned at one time. 1711 1853 CH AU $340.00 Choice About Uncirculated. A bright and lustrous piece with only a touch of wear; 1854 Extremely Fine. A no-problem example with most of the lustre remaining; 1862 Extremely Fine.
