Fine-12 or thereabouts in terms of detail. Olive-brown surfaces show some microgranularity. The obverse is pleasingly bold with a well detailed bust, clear LIBERTY and very distinct date. The reverse is more obviously granular and is generally less sharply defined with a narrow lamination near the rim at 12:00.

The reverse strike is less pronounced with a low rim allowing greater apparent wear on the outer legend. '1' in the fraction touches the left wreath tie. This coin displays a pleasing light tan patina.
