Fine-15/Very Fine-20. LIBERTY and date are very sharp though the saddle-brown surfaces are distinctly porous, causing loss of detail of Liberty's lower locks. Reverse is well centered with substantial fine detail overcoming the prevailing porosity. The lettered edge is deeply impressed for added appeal. Here is a bold and appealing example of a significant type.

Very Fine-30 with the sharply struck, deep brown appeal of a higher grade. Very Fine-30 or better. Here is a carefully struck, well centered coin offering delightfully smooth medium brown surfaces and a fascinating planchet crack at 11:30. A wealth of detail includes Liberty's locks and pole, leaves in the reverse wreath and all lettering. This coin personifies quality of strike, handsome appearance and overall desirability.

1796 S.81 (R-3). Cap & Pole. Pole Attached to Bust, Double Leaf under 'N.' Fine 15/Fine-12. Medium...
Fine 15/Fine-12. Medium brown, obverse shows a partial toothed border extending around half the circumference, boldly struck head and cap. This reverse is deeper brown with a curiously uneven field and an old toned-over pinscratch crossing the upper wreath.
