Choice Brilliant Uncirculated CH BU $190.00 This satiny coin is quite similar in every respect to the prior lot. 687 1884 Choice Brilliant Proof CH BR PF $280.00 - with claims to the Gem category. Scattered microscopic surface flecks are accompanied by a blend of rose and golden toning. The fields enjoy lovely liquid-mirror allure. 688 1885 Choice Brilliant Proof CH BR PF $750.00 - despite some light speckling on either side. Sharp devices and mirrored fields are accented by a blush of golden-tan toning. Examples of this ''key'' issue are under intense collector pressure in today's strong market. 689 1886 Choice Brilliant Proof CH BR PF $325.00 - and enjoying shimmering mirrored fields complemented by sharp cameo design features. Light surface speckling is well concealed by delicate golden toning. Proofs of this date are worthy of a substantial premium in light of the extreme scarcity of high quality business strikes. 690 1887 Choice Brilliant Proof CH BR PF $170.00 - and toned a pleasant shade of liquid gold. A vibrant, assertive Gem were it not for some micro-speckling on either side. 691 1888 Brilliant Proof BR PF $170.00 - nearly a Choice example. Cameo devices and mirrored fields are ever so slightly muted by golden-gray toning. Minor staining is visible under scrutiny. 692 1889 Choice Brilliant Proof CH BR PF $150.00 Wisps of russet and golden toning partially conceal some tiny flecks on both the obverse and reverse. 693 1890 Brilliant Uncirculated BU $80.00 - and virtually of Choice quality. Velvet lustre is augmented by olive-golden peripheral iridescence. Some obverse micro-speckling is noted under magnification. 694 1891 Brilliant Uncirculated BU $80.00 - with claims to a Choice designation. Shades of olive-russet toning accompany satiny mint lustre. 695 1892 Brilliant Proof BR PF $150.00 - approaching a Choice distinction. This lavender-golden example offers razor-sharp design elements and nicely mirrored fields. Some tiny spots preclude a higher grade. 696 1893 Brilliant Proof BR PF $140.00 - and offering some characteristics indicative of a Choice classification. Splashes of lilac and russet toning partially conceal light to moderate speckling. 697 1894 Brilliant Proof BR PF $170.00 - and a Choice example were it not for a noticeable degree of micro-speckling mostly situated on the obverse. Sharp and offering plenty of underlying reflectivity. 698 1895 Brilliant Proof BR PF $150.00 - with claims to the Choice category. Light to moderate speckling is noted amid shades of lavender-gray and russet toning. 699 1896 Brilliant Proof BR PF $160.00 - and approaching a Choice designation. Golden toning accents glittering underlying fields. The devices offer cameo contrast. There are, however, a number of tiny specks situated mostly on the obverse. 700 1897 Choice Brilliant Proof CH BR PF $150.00 Despite some light micro-speckling, this example is well balanced and appealing. Pale olive-gray toning accents well mirrored fields and sharp devices. 701 1898 Choice Brilliant Proof CH BR PF $170.00 Here is a razor-sharp specimen that reveals only light speckling beneath delicate iridescent golden toning. 702 1899 Choice Brilliant Proof CH BR PF $720.00 - or essentially so. Chisel-sharp definition embellishes velvet field reflectivity. A shade of olive-gold partially conceals microscopic staining. 703 1900 Brilliant Proof BR PF $140.00 - or a bit better. The reverse is nearly of Choice quality. The obverse is rather muted by uneven shades of russet and gray toning. 704 1901 Brilliant Proof BR PF $200.00 - with claims to the Choice category. Sharp and nicely mirrored. There is some speckling and unevenness in toning, most notably on the reverse. 705 1902 Brilliant Proof BR PF $200.00 - and offering some qualities indicative of a Choice distinction. The reverse is that of a Choice specimen. The obverse exhibits micro-speckling over pale russet and olive-gray surfaces. 706 1903 Choice Brilliant Proof CH BR PF $200.00 - and toned in shades of pale tan-gold. Only light micro-flecks are visible with a glass. The fields are otherwise nicely mirrored, and the devices are quite assertive. 707 1904 Brilliant Proof BR PF $140.00 - or a bit better. Some obverse staining is most evident in the left field. The reverse, though a bit cloudy in places, approaches the Choice category. 708 1905 Choice Brilliant Proof CH BR PF $200.00 - with claims to a Gem designation. A blend of pale olive and lavender-rose iridescence augments sharp devices and watery fields. Only very minor speckling is evident under close scrutiny with a glass. 709 1906 Choice Brilliant Proof CH BR PF $220.00 - were it not for a smudge that affects the lower obverse. The definition is extremely sharp, and the overall presentation is otherwise quite assertive. 710 1907 Choice Brilliant Proof CH BR PF $240.00 - despite a small obverse stain between the twelfth and thirteenth stars. There are varying shades of pale olive and golden toning over frosty devices and mirrored fields. This date enjoys a Proof mintage of only 1,475 pieces, the lowest such mintage in the Liberty Head Nickel series (with the exception of the excessively rare 1913). 711 1908 Gem Brilliant Proof GEM BR PF $300.00 Frosty design elements are wonderfully smooth and defect-free. The fields, likewise, are free of all but the most minor of imperfections. Shades of delicate rose and olive-golden iridescence embellish either side. 712 1909 Choice Brilliant Proof CH BR PF $260.00 - with claims to a Gem classification. The surfaces are essentially free of hairlines, however there are some minor specks visible with a glass. The overall presentation certainly is quite pleasing, as the strike is sharp and the color is above average. 713 1910 Brilliant Uncirculated BU $45.00 - and easily Choice were it not for some light obverse speckling. There is an abundance of mint lustre beneath delicate golden toning. The reverse is that of a borderline Gem. 714 1911 Choice Brilliant Proof CH BR PF $200.00 - or better, there being only minor speckling visible with a glass on either side. Lavender-rose toning is framed by areas of olive-russet at the obverse periphery. Well mirrored fields are contrasted against sharp, frosted devices.
