Lot # Description Grade Hammer Price 271 1916 Gem Brilliant Uncirculated GEM BU $1,800.00 A simply splendid specimen of the first year of issue of the type. The piece has smooth and satiny surfaces, full mint lustre, and attractive pale gray and gold toning. The surfaces are nearly flawless. 272 1917 Gem Brilliant Uncirculated GEM BU $375.00 Another gorgeous early date. This piece is fully frosty and satiny and has great lustre on both sides. The strike was good for the date. The piece has the nice eye appeal of a near-Gem. 273 1918'D' Very Choice Brilliant Uncirculated VERY CH BU $7,500.00 - and a wonderfully attractive example. Here is a warm, satiny specimen that is entirely ''fresh'' in every respect. Premium fields and design features are gloriously embellished by iridescent shades of gold, subtle rose, and olive-russet. Any Mint State example of this date could be considered scarce, however locating a coin of the magnitude offered here would no doubt be a formidable...  more 274 1919'D' Choice Brilliant Uncirculated CH BU $28,000.00 - despite a well concealed shallow scuff beneath the toning at the central obverse. In fact, were it not for this light scuff, this lovely specimen would easily merit a Very Choice or better classification. The reverse is that of a full Gem. Underlying velvet-like fields and design elements are bathed in a blend of gold, olive-emerald, and delicate champagne iridescence. The fields and devices are free of all but the most minor of inconspicuous imperfections. Outstanding! 276 1921'D' GEM BU $5,500.00 This visually enticing example enjoys the initial appeal of a Gem Brilliant Uncirculated coin. Closer examination, however, belies an ancient subtle cleaning. The surfaces have since acquired a tempting blend of delicate lilac-rose iridescence on either side that serves to enhance the smoothness of the surfaces, while largely concealing what little evidence there is of the cleaning. Once lightly cleaned. 278 1927'S' Very Choice Brilliant Uncirculated VERY CH BU $2,600.00 A very pleasing specimen with great color and lovely lustre. The piece has outstanding eye appeal and is definitely worthy of a premium bid for its originality and color. 279 1928'S' Superb Gem Brilliant Uncirculated SUP GEM BU $16,000.00 A knockout coin. The front and back are fully lustrous with satiny fields. The strike is strong, Liberty's left hand is soft as usual but the eagle's feathers are almost completely struck up. The coin is toned in rich iridescent blue, gold, yellow, and purple around the obverse rim, more delicately around the back. The centers are bright and frosty. This piece has great eye appeal and...  more 280 1929'D' Gem Brilliant Uncirculated GEM BU $2,600.00 A fully lustrous specimen with light gray and pale rose toning on the obverse, the reverse essentially bright white and untoned. Full mint lustre can be seen on both sides on satiny fields. The lustre cartwheels are full, sharp and unbroken. 281 1929'S' Gem Brilliant Uncirculated GEM BU $5,250.00 A gorgeous specimen, really a top of the line coin. The obverse is toned in an oval shape around the center, showing iridescent blue, deep gold, and pale blue shades. The center is mostly untoned silver white and frosty. The back is bright white and untoned. Full lustre can be seen over satiny surfaces. 282 1933'S' Brilliant Uncirculated BU $650.00 The obverse is that of a fully lustrous and toned Gem. The reverse would also have been of the same quality had the feathers at right not been lightly cleaned. 283 1934 Gem Brilliant Uncirculated GEM BU $500.00 A fully struck specimen with lovely color. The obverse is satiny and lustrous with bright yellow gold toning almost everywhere. The reverse is whiter in the center with a touch of gold around the rim. Superior quality and an outstanding example. 284 1934'D' Very Choice Brilliant Uncirculated VERY CH BU $1,700.00 Would easily be Gem if not for some mild obverse weakness. A lovely iridesence is balanced with a toned periphery. The silvery white reverse is superb. 285 1934'S' Brilliant Uncirculated BU $2,400.00 An attractively toned example of this date which is difficult to locate in Mint State. Superior devices are silvery white at the center and are surrounded by golden toning near the borders. 286 1935 Gem Brilliant Uncirculated GEM BU $1,100.00 An outstanding specimen in every respect. The front is toned around the rim in deep golden brown while the center is bright, lustrous and frosty. The reverse is mostly bright lustrous silver white with lovely satiny surfaces. Fairly typical strike. 287 1935'D' Gem Brilliant Uncirculated GEM BU $2,800.00 A satiny and lustrous specimen that is a full Gem despite some typical striking weakness. The lustre on this piece is very strong. 288 1935'S' Gem Brilliant Uncirculated GEM BU $9,000.00 An important example of an issue that is very tough to find this nice. Both sides are nicely toned in pale rose and silver gray. The lustre is complete and the surfaces are nicely satiny. This would suit nicely a great collection of Walkers. 289 1936 Very Choice Brilliant Proof VERY CH BR PF $15,000.00 Bright and fully mirror-like with just whisper of pale toning on each side. There are pleasant touches of light iridescence around the rims. First year of issue of the type in Proof format and a very tough issue to find in really nice condition, as here. 290 1936 Gem Brilliant Uncirculated GEM BU $300.00 Pristine satiny mint frost permeates both obverse and reverse. All skirt lines, head, breast and finger details are quite bold. 291 1936'D' Gem Brilliant Uncirculated GEM BU $750.00 Pale silver gray in color with full lustre and satiny smooth surfaces. Touch of toning here and there. 292 1936'S' Very Choice Brilliant Uncirculated VERY CH BU $650.00 A sharply struck and visually appealing coin. The needle sharp details are enhanced with an attractive pearl gray patina. 293 1937 Gem Brilliant Proof GEM BR PF $1,500.00 Bright and fully mirror-like with just a touch of light toning at the rims on each side. The surfaces have bright mirror finish and are attractively glassy. The eagle's left leg feathers are almost fully struck up. 294 1937 Gem Brilliant Uncirculated GEM BU $700.00 A ring of golden toning surrounds mostly light gray centers. All central devices, lettering and numerals are needle sharp. 295 1937'D' Gem Brilliant Uncirculated GEM BU $1,400.00 The obverse has a touch of pale golden toning around the rim while the center is bright white. The reverse is mostly blast white. The surfaces are fully lustrous and satiny. 296 1937'S' Choice Brilliant Uncirculated CH BU $400.00 An impressive satiny radiance highlights vibrantly struck central devices. The resulting eye appeal gives this coin claims to Gem. 297 1938 Gem Brilliant Proof GEM BR PF $950.00 A lovely example of this issue, the surfaces bright and nearly fully mirror-like with just a touch of cloudy toning here and there on the front. The reverse is bright and has deep mirrors showing. 298 1938 Gem Brilliant Uncirculated GEM BU $450.00 Beautiful obverse toning shows light gold around the rims. The reverse, in contrast, is bright white almost everywhere save for a touch of light iridescence at the top. The surfaces are fully lustrous and satiny. 299 1938'D' Very Choice Brilliant Uncirculated VERY CH BU $1,400.00 Fully lustrous and attractive with satiny surfaces, pale golden toning, and a good strike. This is a nice high grade example of a Denver Mint issue that is very tough to find this nice. 300 1939 Gem Brilliant Proof GEM BR PF $700.00 Bright and fully mirror-like with a touch of pale golden toning over bright fields and devices.
