The '8' and '6' of the undertype date are still quite evident within the loops of the primary numerals. Additional traces of the undertype '846' are also detectable with some effort in the obverse field adjacent to the numerals. Brilliant Uncirculated, nearly a Choice example. Vibrant toning gives this coin a remarkable appearance. The obverse is mostly lilac with some neon blue highlights, but the reverse is truly remarkable with lilac design motifs resting atop intense electric blue fields. Pleasing surfaces and a bold strike add to the wonderful eye appeal. An attractive example housed in an earlier NGC holder. NGC MS65.

Mirrored fields and assertive design elements are embellished by a lovely overlying shade of lavender-rose toning. Proofs of this Stars Obverse type are many times rarer than those of the later date With Legend design.
