Brilliant with matte surfaces and wide rims, the hallmark of half dollars of this year (and some of early 1917 as well). Above average strike, not needle sharp, but finer than usually seen. Brilliant on both sides, with delicate toning. A coin that quality-wise earns high marks and, as such, is deserving of a strong bid.
5256 1916-D MS-64 (PCGS) (see below) $650.00

Brilliant and lustrous, the surfaces are somewhat matte, as is true of all 1916 half dollar issues. The striking is about average, with some lightness at the center.
5257 1918-D MS-63 (PCGS) (see below) $2,400.00
1918-D MS-63 (PCGS). Lustrous fields with light golden toning. Very few contact marks, perhaps suggesting...
Lustrous fields with light golden toning. Very few contact marks, perhaps suggesting that it could be called MS-64. Some light striking at the center as usual.

1918-S MS-63 (PCGS). Light gray and brown toning over satiny lustrous surfaces. Striking about typical...
Light gray and brown toning over satiny lustrous surfaces. Striking about typical for 1918-S, perhaps a bit better, with some lightness at the centers.

1919-S MS-63 (PCGS). Mottled gray and gold toning over lustrous surfaces. Some light striking at the...
Mottled gray and gold toning over lustrous surfaces. Some light striking at the center, but a bit finer than typically seen. The 1919-S is widely regarded as one of the key issues of the era.
5260 1920-S MS-64 (PCGS) (see below) $3,900.00
1920-S MS-64 (PCGS). A lustrous specimen with light golden toning over frosty surfaces. Light striking...
A lustrous specimen with light golden toning over frosty surfaces. Light striking at the center as usual. Some original planchet marks are on the figure of Miss Liberty in the lightly struck areas, not to be confused with contact marks from bag handling. Probably in terms of actual handling this piece could be called MS-65, but there are other factors.
5261 1921-S AU-53 (NGC) (see below) $6,750.00
1921-S AU-53 (NGC). Much lustre is still seen on this example of the most difficult to find half dollar...
Much lustre is still seen on this example of the most difficult to find half dollar issue of 1921. For some reason, not many high-grade pieces were saved. Both sides are essentially bright silver with light toning. Extensive lustre is still present, particularly on the reverse.
5262 1939-S MS-66 (PCGS) (see below) $500.00
1939-S MS-66 (PCGS). Brilliant with superb lustre. Excellent strike, about as nice as we have ever...
Brilliant with superb lustre. Excellent strike, about as nice as we have ever seen. A splendid coin for anyone who wants to put together an incredibly high quality set of half dollars of the Liberty Walking design.

Brilliant and lustrous. Some light striking at the center, as nearly always seen for 1941-S. A coin with a lot of "life" due to its brilliance and frost.
