1172 1760 Voce Populi Halfpenny. Zelinka 2-A, Nelson 4. Older Head EF $500.00
1760 Voce Populi Halfpenny. Zelinka 2-A, Nelson 4. Older Head. 110.0 grains. Extremely Fine. 26mm....
110.0 grains. Extremely Fine. 26mm. Small flan. This delightful piece displays pale golden tan color on both sides. Obverse and reverse surfaces are generally smooth. Well centered on the obverse for the variety, the reverse is much tighter with the tops of most letters at or running off the edge. Trivial rim disturbances can be searched out on the reverse.
1173 1760 Voce Populi Halfpenny. Zelinka 2-A. Nelson 4. Older Head CH VF $150.00
1760 Voce Populi Halfpenny. Zelinka 2-A. Nelson 4. Older Head. 115.6 grains. Choice Very Fine. Glossy,...
115.6 grains. Choice Very Fine. Glossy, chocolate brown surfaces are the rule on this well-centered, attractive specimen. Some fine planchet laminations are found on the reverse and a few, mostly flat-to-the-surface verdigris spots are noted on the head and at right obverse.
1174 1760 Voce Populi Halfpenny. Zelinka 2-A. Nelson 4. Older Head VF $125.00

113.5 grains. Very Fine. Medium brown with ruddy highlights, this mostly smooth, well-centered coin exhibits some very minor porosity. A lovely coin for type and featuring a more advanced die state, as the letters of POPULI are beginning to crumble.
1175 1760 Voce Populi Halfpenny. Zelinka 2-A. Nelson 4. Older Head VF $175.00

91.3 grains. Very Fine, essentially Choice. Glossy, deep chestnut brown surfaces make this a supremely attractive specimen of the type. Struck on a wide flan that easily frames all the legends and devices. The obverse die is in an advanced state, with the letters of POPULI nearly falling apart!
1176 1760 Voce Populi Halfpenny. Zelinka 3-C. Nelson 8. Long Nose CH VF $900.00
1760 Voce Populi Halfpenny. Zelinka 3-C. Nelson 8. Long Nose. 114.1 grains. Choice Very Fine. Glossy,...
114.1 grains. Choice Very Fine. Glossy, deep chestnut brown surfaces are the rule on this well struck, trouble-free specimen. Struck on a flan that accommodates the obverse inscriptions, but the tops of the reverse legends have been cut off a bit. The Zelinka 3-C die combination is one of the more challenging of the series, making this beautiful specimen ideal for the variety collector.
1177 1760 Voce Populi Halfpenny. Long Nose. Zelinka 3-C. Nelson 8 CH VF $420.00

114.5 grains. Choice Very Fine. Very scarce. 26.5mm. Dark olive brown and green on both sides. Obverse and reverse surfaces smooth in most places, reverse shows very faint roughness at the upper left. Well centered on the obverse, reverse off center at the top as usual. Essentially equal to the Norweb example.
1178 1760 Voce Populi Halfpenny. Square Head. Zelinka 4-B, Nelson 2 EF $300.00

104.3 grains. Extremely Fine. 27.3mm. Normal tail on '6' in date, normal thickness flan. Pale brown in color on both sides. Obverse surface somewhat rough in places, reverse fields smoother. Trace of reverse verdigris can be found. Centers are more sharply struck than usually seen.
1179 1760 Voce Populi Halfpenny. Zelinka 4-B. Nelson 2. Square Head SP $150.00
1760 Voce Populi Halfpenny. Zelinka 4-B. Nelson 2. Square Head. 102.5 grains. Fine, and exhibiting...
102.5 grains. Fine, and exhibiting the usual flat strike at both the obverse and reverse centers. This deep brown specimen is otherwise quite choice and attractive, exhibiting only microscopic porosity under magnification.
1180 1760 Voce Populi Halfpenny. Zelinka 4-B. Nelson 2. Square Head VF $120.00

Very Fine for this weakly struck variety, but dark and very porous; 1760 Voce Populi Halfpenny. Zelinka 6-C. Nelson 9. Stern Bust. Fine or better, but dark and displaying uneven and granular surfaces. 2 pieces.
1181 1760 Voce Populi Halfpenny. Zelinka 6-C. Nelson 9. Stern Bust CH VF $120.00

Choice Very Fine in terms of wear, but dark, porous, and exhibiting a rim crimping and bruises; 1760 Voce Populi Halfpenny. Zelinka 3-A. Nelson 15. Long Nose. Fine. Corroded, medium brown surfaces. 2 pieces.
1182 1760 Voce Populi Halfpenny. VOOE spelling. Zelinka 7-E. Nelson 3 VF $90.00

108.2 grains. Very Fine. Chestnut brown fields surround lighter brown devices and legends. Very well struck on a full planchet that displays some intermittent porosity and verdigris. Here is a lovely specimen of the 'VOOE' variety caused by a small die break which closed the 'C' of 'VOCE.'
1183 1760 Voce Populi Halfpenny. VOOE spelling. Zelinka 7-E, Nelson 3 VF $150.00

116.3 grains. Very Fine. 25.8mm. Dark golden brown in color on both sides. The obverse is well centered, the reverse off-center toward the upper left with extra metal remaining at the lower right and portions of a planchet-cutter lip visible there. Traces of verdigris on both sides. This later die state shows a full break in 'C' that creates the popular VOOE variety.
1184 1760 Voce Populi Halfpenny. Zelinka 13-K. Nelson 10. Long Head VF $300.00
1760 Voce Populi Halfpenny. Zelinka 13-K. Nelson 10. Long Head. 117.6 grains. Very Fine, and essentially...
117.6 grains. Very Fine, and essentially Choice for this variety that often comes strong on noticeably porous planchets. The porosity was somewhat flattened and obliterated by the striking, but it is still quite evident on this otherwise attractive chocolate brown specimen.
1185 1760 Voce Populi Halfpenny. Zelinka 14-L. Nelson 11. P Below Bust CH F $875.00
1760 Voce Populi Halfpenny. Zelinka 14-L. Nelson 11. P Below Bust. 130.3 grains. Choice Fine. Perfectly...
130.3 grains. Choice Fine. Perfectly smooth, medium brown surfaces are near perfection for this circulated, very attractive specimen. Reverse die is failing at the seated figure's right leg.
1186 1760 Voce Populi Halfpenny. Zelinka 14-M. Nelson 13. P Below Bust CH F $180.00
1760 Voce Populi Halfpenny. Zelinka 14-M. Nelson 13. P Below Bust. 118.6 grains. Choice Fine. Mostly...
118.6 grains. Choice Fine. Mostly smooth, dark chestnut surfaces exhibit some light unevenness of the fields. Struck from the terminal state of the reverse die featuring a large bisecting die break that obliterates the '6' of the date.
1187 1760 Voce Populi Halfpenny. Zelinka 14-M. Nelson 13. P Below Bust F $190.00

137.4 grains. Fine. Perfectly smooth and glossy, chocolate brown surfaces make this circulated coin a sight to behold. A few minor rim bruises are not bothersome given the sheer appeal of this coin's lovely color. Like the Z.14-M in the previous lot, this coin is struck from a very late state of the reverse die with huge die breaks and cracks obliterating parts of the reverse.
1188 1760 Voce Populi Halfpenny. Zelinka 15-N. Nelson 12. P in Front of Face CH F $140.00

145.8 grains. Choice Fine. Glossy, rich chestnut brown surfaces are mostly smooth but for two small patches of corrosion at the right reverse. Attractive and well centered.
1189 1760 Voce Populi Halfpenny. Zelinka 15-N. Nelson 12. P in Front of Face F $100.00

119.2 grains. Fine. Dark brown surfaces are a bit rough.
