M. STILSON countermark on 1834 Capped Bust Half Dollar. Brunk S-990 is this countermark on a Silver Dollar. Countermark is crisp and clear, host coin Choice Very Fine.
978 UNITED STATES. VG $290.00

CHILD & BRO., OTTAWA, ILL countermark on 1856 Liberty Seated Half Dollar. Brunk C-418. This firm was a well-known shoe-making concern. Gregory Brunk lists three U.S. Quarter and three Half Dollar dates bearing this countermark. Host coin Very Good.

Racing boar, PERISH CREDIT - PERISH COMMERCE. Rev. Small Andrew Jackson bust, MY EXPERIMENT... Largely mint red with the lightest whisper of light brown, one of the finest known examples of a vigorously anti-Jackson satirical issue of this stormy era of economic dislocation.
980 HT 65, L.40. Liberty Head-May 10th, 1837. Very Choice Brilliant Uncirculated VERY CH BU $320.00

Elegant head suggests the Large Cent of the era, reverse gives the date of the suspension of Specie Payments, May 10, 1837. Splendidly sharp strike, glossy red-brown with much faded red.
981 HT 68, L.67. Liberty Head - May 10th, 1841. Gem Brilliant Uncirculated GEM BU $270.00

This token's Liberty head is that of the 1837 issue, but here placed over date and rose wreath. Reverse types as above. Needle-sharp strike and smooth glossy red-brown surfaces proclaim total quality.
