Close to Extremely Fine, not canceled, small tone spot on back; June 19, 1776. 5 Shillings. No.8548. About Uncirculated, cut cancel at base with tape residue on back to close; July 1, 1780. 2 Shillings Six Pence. No.6520. Choice Crisp Uncirculated. Bold and with wide sheet margins. A sharp example. 2148 Delaware. January 1, 1776. 10 Shillings CU $315.00 No.86192. Crisp Uncirculated. A very petty corner rub, otherwise another bold and crisp note. 2149 Delaware. May 1, 1777. 10 Shillings VF $125.00 No.41215. Close to Very Fine, a hard fold with a slight slit at the right. Trimmed in slightly all around as often seen. Decent looking for the technical grade and a scarcer series. One Spanish Milled Dollar EF $1,050.00 No.9888. Green seal with Justice, motto SUSTINE RECTUM. Four signatures. Border variety (e). The paper quality is strong with only some natural deckling on the top edge when the note was removed from the sheet. This barely touches the top left ornaments. The seal is toned with some ''bleed'' of the green ink. However, on eye appeal, this should be considered quite close to Extremely...  more 2151 Georgia. 1776. Two Spanish Milled Dollars VF $350.00 No.3943. Blue seal with Floating Jugs, motto SI COLLIDIMUS FRANGIMUR. Border variety (c). Great paper quality and superior margins for the issue. Sadly, the note received some purple ink stains across the color title at the upper left and across the bottom signature area. Otherwise, Very Fine. 2152 Georgia. 1776. Four Spanish Milled Dollars CH EF $1,800.00 No.5154. Blue seal with Liberty Cap, motto LIBERTAS CARIOR AURO. Border variety (a). Three margins are tremendously broad and the indent at the left is cut in slightly at the upper left. Boldly printed and with superb blue color seal with great clarity. To be accurate there are a few tiny nicks on the top edge in the wide margin and a back hinge remnant from an ancient mounting. Never tampered...  more 2153 Georgia. September 10, 1777. Seven Dollars in Continental Currency CH F $1,150.00 No.3461. Blue seal with Liberty Cap, motto LIBERTAS CARIOR AURO. No major problems, just some honest wear. The paper is a trifle ''soft'', but well printed and excellent margins for these smaller format notes. Choice Fine with a short top edge split in the ornaments. 2154 Georgia. May 4, 1778. $20 AU $1,600.00 No.2498. Green seal with Rattlesnake, motto NEMO ME IMPUNE LACASSET. Border variety (d). Well printed and superb margins. The seal color is a bit subdued, but complete. Very crisp and well embossed. A short nick at the upper right is hinge taped from the back. Ink blots from the Wade signature on the center text. Overall, About Uncirculated. 2155 Georgia. May 4, 1778. $30 EF $550.00 No.602. Blue seal with Wild Boar, motto on the back AUT MORS. AUT VICTORIA LAETA. Border variety (b). A crisp note with light circulation. However, the silverfish took some bites out of the upper right text as often seen on this issue. Mostly whole with excellent color. Close to Extremely Fine. June 28, 1776, due January 26, 1788. One Shilling EF $1,300.00 No.4529. Signed by E. Thompson. These small format notes are quite rare with only 6,000 printed. The majority saw hard circulation and were redeemed for larger denominations in subsequent issues. Only two denominations of this Act were in the 2002 Wayne Rich Collection Sale by Bowers & Merena. Both notes contained here in the Springfield Museum's Collection are superior in condition....  more 2157 Colony of New Hampshire. June 28, 1776, due January 26, 1788. Fifteen Pence VF $1,850.00 No.5559. Signed by N.[oah] Emery. Also, quite rare with 6,000 printed. They saw hard use and this note is quite nice. Very Fine or better. Lightly quarter folded with a short bottom edge split and a tiny juncture hole over the text of ''POSSESSOR''. A note not often encountered. 2158 State of New Hampshire. April 29, 1780. $1 AU $600.00 No.4990. The popular Guaranteed by the United States issue. These are excellent notes to complete a ''13 Colonies'' type set. Hole cancel as typical for the issue. About Uncirculated, small back corner mounting remnants. 2159 State of New Hampshire. April 29, 1780. $3 VF to EF $475.00 No.1075. An excellent $3 bill. Hole cancel as typical for the issue. Very Fine to Extremely Fine, upper left corner shaved barely touching the margin line. 2160 State of New Hampshire. April 29, 1780. $4 EF $425.00 No.1859. Hole cancel as typical for the issue. Extremely Fine, but a light stain seen more so from the back at the lower left. 2161 State of New Hampshire. April 29, 1780. $8 EF $410.00 No.435-. Hole cancel as typical for the issue. Extremely Fine. The vertical fold is hard and the Gilman verso signature a bit blurry. 2162 State of New Hampshire. April 29, 1780. $20 VF $270.00 No.606. Hole cancel as typical for the issue, across the bottom edge with a strip repair to ''bridge'' the gap. Otherwise, Very Fine plus with strong back color. Back corner mounting remnants. 2163 State of New Hampshire. May 9, 1795 EF $230.00 'NH REVENUE' Treasury Certificate for 21 Pounds 10 Pence, part printed form for 'Lawful Money'. No.107. Signed by Gilman and Pearson. Indent left with ornate border. A scarce form and a little late to be listed in Anderson. Two hole cancels, otherwise Extremely Fine. A choice piece for the specialist in fiscal paper. June 22, 1756. One Shilling EF $81.00 No.4573. Brittle, some breaks, a long ''tear''. Overall, Fair due to this; March 25, 1776. 18 Pence. No.41710. Extremely Fine, some soil and slightly rounded corners. 2 pieces. 2165 New Jersey. April 16, 1764. Six Pounds CH EF $775.00 No.414. Royal Arms in red with red interior frame; the outside border in blue. A beautiful note for this issue and denomination. These have always been severely under collected and undervalued in our opinion. Only 917 examples of this note were printed and this is certainly among the finest. Not a rare note, but broad, ''monster'' margins on all sides. Close to full Gem Crisp Uncirculated. We note only some modest collector handling. 2167 New Jersey. March 25, 1776. 3 Shillings CH AU $575.00 No.35906. Bright, vivid color and Choice Crisp Uncirculated; 6 Shillings. No.9639. Mica flecks and fresh color, but a soft vertical fold. Choice About Uncirculated; 30 Shillings. No.3917. About Uncirculated. Trimmed in slightly at the upper left with a hard corner fold. 3 pieces. 2168 New Jersey. March 25, 1776. Three Pounds AU $570.00 No.3838. Not as well regarded as the 6 Pounds from the series, but it should be. Bold red and blue color scheme as used on the 1764 notes. This is sharply printed and very crisp. Trace of a top edge sheet fold and a vertical bend. The margins are typical and slightly inwards. This is compensated for by bold colors and printing. Border designs by David Rittenhouse. The margins are typical and the back well centered. There are two petty ink specks on the back that do not intrude on the beauty. Crisp Uncirculated and most will also consider this Choice for the issue and type. Fine, but soft and well rounded corners; August 13, 1776. $1/8. No.29874. About Fine, petty splits and trimmed in; New-York Water Works. August 2, 1775. No.4912. Extremely Fine to About Uncirculated. Excellent color, but trimmed in slightly. Excellent...  more 2171 Colony of New York. March 5, 1776. $1/6 CH VF $490.00 No.15219. Very Fine with a small burn spot at the lower left; $1/4. No.1486. Very Fine or better. A hard fold, but some back soiling; $1/3. No.2721. Close to Extremely Fine, though still soft. A clear note with a trivial blur on the serial number; $1. No.4186. Choice Very Fine. Hard vertical fold and minor back soiling. Very well matched collector quality notes. 4 pieces. 2172 City of New-York, New-York Water Works. January 6, 1776. Four Shillings CH CU $390.00 No.373. Choice Crisp Uncirculated and most will call this a Gem. Exceptional color and centering on the face. The back is centered down a bit, otherwise a superb note.
